Smart-street light system Using ARDUINO UNO A thesis submitted for the partial fulfillment Of the necessities for the award of degree of Bachelor of Technology In Electrical Engineering By Swadhin Meher (Roll No: 111ee0218) Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sandip Ghosh Department of Electrical engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela,
utilization) control of street light using various electrical as well as electronic components. The circuit named auto intensity control of street light with solar tracker is designed using microcontroller along with real time clock (RTC) and Light Dependent Resistance (LDR).
I bought a solar powered garden light. The solar panel charges the batteries and when it gets dark the lights (3x LEDs) turn on until it either gets lights again or the batteries run out. It has a small amount of intelligence (turns on when dark off when light) but not enough! Time for some upgrades. 😀 First, the batteries.
In this article we are going to make a Sun Tracking Solar Panel using Arduino, in which we will use two LDRs (Light dependent resistor) to sense the light and a servo motor to automatically rotate the solar panel in the direction of the sun light.
the lighting column of street light. The intensity of Street lights has been successfully controlled by Arduino board. Street-lights are a large consumer of energy for cities using up to 30-50% of energy budget. If every city installs the proposed system then a lot of power can be saved .Proposed system is power saving mechanism for LED Street ...
The Application of Solar Powered LED Street Lighting • LED lighting offers high efficiency, long operating life and low voltage operation which ideal for solar • Solar street lights were initially used in remote locations and disaster prone areas • As LED efficacy and light output have improved, they are becoming mainstream
The main objective of this project is to implement an auto-intensity control of LED-based-street light system interfaced to the Arduino board. As the traffic decreases slowly during late-night hours, the intensity gets reduced progressively till morning to save energy and thus, the street lights switch on at the dusk and then switch off at the dawn, automatically.
The assembling of the entire solar LED street light system can be connected using all the above components which use sun energy to give the power to the LED lamps fixed on street poles. Solar Powered Led Street Light with Auto Intensity Control Project Kit by
In fact, these lights are automatic and have a sensor in them which is known as LDR sensor. This sensor is used to detect the light intensity so if there's sun light in the surroundings then it simply turn OFF the street light and if there's no sun light then it turns ON the street light and that's how Automatic Street Light works.

Since this project is about creating a solar tracker, some light dependent circuit element would have to be used to determine the direction of the sun. The idea behind using solar cells would be to place them at equal and opposite angles to receive signals from each based on the strength of the sun in either direction.
An Infra-Red Proximity Sensor at the base of the street light detects presence in a small area around the street light. The data from the sensor is sent to the Arduino which forms brain of the circuit. The Arduino then commands to switch between dim and bright modes depending upon the requirement and thus controls the brightness of the street ...
Street Lights that Glow on Detecting Vehicle Movement (using AVR Microcontroller) Principle Behind this Circuit. The proposed system consists of Atmega8 microcontroller, LDR, PIR sensor and RTC. This system controls the street lights using light dependent resistor and PIR sensor.
If your solar cell panel is ground based, that is if it's negative lead is wired to everything else's (charger, battery, arduino, controller?,etc) ground then it's pretty simple. You wire a low ohm resistor, say 1 ohm (get a precision one) and wire the resistor in series from system ground to the solar panels negative lead.
Light sensor and street light control using Arduino is designed to measure the intensity of light or amount of light. Street light is controlled automatically with the help of the intensity of light and Arduino. Arduino UNO R3 is used in this project. Light-dependent resistor is used for the detection of light.
Arduino based Solar Street Light The project is designed for LED based street lights with auto intensity control by an Arduino board using solar power from photovoltaic cells. As awareness for solar energy is increasing, more and more individuals and institutions are opting for solar energy.
Want to measure solar radiation but cant afford a Pyranometers? Well, make your own device with your Arduino board using this guide. There are a lot of sensors available for measuring all sorts of weather conditions like temperature, humidity, light intensity etc., but there are no easily available ...
i connect my current sensor in series with the solar panel. i am able to get the voltage which i connect the voltage divider in parallel to step down voltage to below 5V to read by arduino uno r3 but the current seems to be acting very weird. i am using a buck boost converter to step down my voltage from 40V to 12V so that i can run my motor.
